Do-Re-Sist! [Poetry & Songs] : 1 August

Do-Re-Sist! [Poetry & Songs] : 1 August

Do-Re-Sist! is an evening of performances of poetry and song lead by six UK based women artists from Chile, Peru, Mexico and Spain who will present their unique poetry, narrative and songs.

"Our work emerges from our experiences of exile and migration as women. We are committed to creating social justice and inclusion. We celebrate human rights through poetry, narrative, visual arts and songs."

Maria Eugenia Bravo Calderara (Chile), Consuelo Rivera Fuentes (Chile), Mabel Encinas (Mexico), Sofia Buchuck (Peru), Marijo Alba (Spain) and Isabel Ros López (Spain) will perform their work reflecting their diversity, culture and lives in the UK, in the various intersections of their experience as women and migrants.

Their common themes of resistance powerfully transpire through their art, produced in Spanish and English.
Special guests to be confirmed. Drink and snacks will be available. The event will be bilingual.

This special presentation aims to sponsor a collective anthology of their original work: Maravilladoras (Wonderers).
