JOE BATAAN & Grupo X
"The King of Latin Soul", Joe Bataan, announces a rare London concert.
Joe Bataan is Latin Music Royalty. His first album "Gypsy Woman" was released on Fania Records in 1967 and was followed by a series of classic albums such as "Subway Joe", "Riot", "Poor Boy", "Mr. New York and the East Side Kids", "Singin' Some Soul" and "Saint Latin's Day Massacre".
These recordings established Joe Bataan as the King of Latin Soul and songs from them are still coveted by DJ's and collectors today and sell for extortionate amounts of money online.

Leaving Fania Records in 1973 the next album was "Salsoul" featuring the dance floor smashes "Latin Strut" and "Aftershower Funk". Joe Bataan moved with the times and helped start the Latin Disco movement releasing "Rap-o-clap-o" and an instrumental of Gil Scott-Heron's "The Bottle" which became a huge song at David Mancuso's The Loft.
