London latin american film festival : 13-22 November

This year, The London Latin American Film Festival is going loco for its Silver Jubilee! To date the programme already includes screenings of films from Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, France, Guatemala, Hungary, Mexico, Portugal, Spain, Venezuela, the UK and USA among others.

This year we are working in partnership with the Havana/Glasgow Film Festival (1st to 8th November 2015), and so events will be taking place at a variety of fabulous venues across London and Glasgow.

In addition to the screenings (which are FREE ENTRY at all the London venues), we will be laying on a lavish smorgasbord of Q+As, Retrospectives, Film Schools shows, Art & Photography Exhibitions, Music, Dance, Food, Poetry and, of course, Parties, to ensure that our first quarter century is celebrated in high style!

There is not enough room here to mention all the highlights from this year’s packed and sparkling programme, but do catch, if you can the brilliant tragi-comic satire “SHOWROOM“, as well as fellow Argentinean Rafael Escolar’s tale of madness and redemption, “ADAGIO“. Meanwhile, from Portugal, comes the arresting, and disturbing love story “THE FIRST SUMMER“.

As always, we are featuring some of the most vibrant and thought-provoking documentaries to come out of Latin America, including the glorious “ME DICEN CUBA“, and a not to be missed feature length retrospective of the life of Gabriel Garcia Marquez, “GABO, THE MAGIC OF REALITYy“.

In time honoured tradition, we have gathered together a collection of the most engaging short films, too. Recommended are, “LONDON’S LATIN QUARTER“, featuring the expatriate community of Elephant and Castle, the passionate, campaigning documentary “LAST DAYS OF A HOUSE“, and the compelling short drama “Job”.
