One of the artists at the forefront of Música Popular Brasileira, singer-songwriter Maria Gadú performs her new album Guelã with her live band.

Maria Gadú released her third career album recently. In Guelã, Maria Gadú transcends expectations bringing innovative sounds. Tracks like "Obloco" and “Tecnopapiro" show Maria Gadú’s ability in always surprising, overflowing musicality and lyricism.

Playing in bars since the age of thirteen, Gadú honed her song writing and developed a unique voice. She was signed to Brazil’s Slap Records label after being spotted by Caetano Veloso with whom she did her first national tour, starting the momentum which saw her become one of the most recognizable young names in new Brazilian music.
Caetano Veloso once said: ‘Maria Gadú is a popular phenomenon for her own generation and someone with an authentic musical vocation. The first time I saw her I was dazzled and when she started singing it was spectacular.’

The album, Guelã, released in May 2015 was nominated for the Latin Grammy in the category “best album of Brazilian popular music."

In June 2015, the new tour was released in São Paulo. The show, which also brings together the musicians Federico Puppi, Lancaster Pinto and Felipe Roseno, presents the new repertoire, new interpretations of songs from previous albums and a few surprises.

The tour that has passed through the main capitals of Brazil, in Montreux, Amsterdam, Ravello, Cesena and Treviso, Funchal and Luanda, Portugal and Luxembourg and arrives in London October 2016.
