Ey amigos... Arriba La Cumbia! is back for an special show and totally FREE to The Forge in Camden Town. Probably the UK’s only dedicated cumbia party with Live music & Dj's; A cracking night featuring the roots and new wave of latin music, classic Cumbia, Amazonic Chicha & Tropical vibes with a global twist. One of the most popular parties and UK's pioneers of this genre will head to Camden town to infect you with this global renaissance, morphing into a new mashed-up, vibrant sound embraced by the people all over the world.

The Arriba la Cumbia! live shows will bring you a mix of popular rhythms from Africa to Latin America, New Global sounds mixing Afro-roots, Cumbia and amazonic rhythms ready for a Tropical fire, a mix of cultures and instruments to start a fresh global party. We invited some of the top musicians and emergent artist that have been supporting our nights and create a super band of special guests and our Arriba la Cumbia! All stars for this special night direct from Venezuela, Peru and Colombia and all latin america playing the best popular music from Salsta, Tropical and heavy Cumbia and tight percussion; This will be a highly recommended an unmissable night!

We thanks to our special musicians guest on the night supporting the live show and keeping the vibes alive!! Our Arriba la Cumbia all Stars band will bring a Cumbia, Tropical, Mambo and Salsa rhythms alive with: Venezuelan master percussionist on timbales/drumset Wilmer Sifontes (Conjunto Sabroso, Los Charlys Orchestra), Colombian emergent artists on bass and requinto : Johnny Freyre & Ubeimar Llanten (Son Melao Orquesta, Kalima Project), Top Colombian singer & Percussionist on the Congas : Carlitos Riascos (Kalison Orquesta), Venezuelan Saxophone: Cristian Pacheco (Combo Yanze), Peruvian wonder boy keyboard player : Gustavo J. Alcántara (Combo Yanze & Papayera).

That's what we called a heavy party night ahead!!

On the decks Dj Russ Jones & Dj Nino aka Carlitos will bring the best of the tropical rhythms with a fusion of Cumbia, Afro-roots, Baile funk, Ragga, Global Bass and Moombahton to bring the house down!

Dj Russ Jones aka hackney globe trotter one of the top Dj's in town with an eclectic material from travelling extensively and appearing at world beat clubs in every remote corner of the world, in Beijing, Moscow, Sao Salvador, Oslo, Istanbul, Tokyo and Sao Paulo – then taking it to the big metropolises of New York, Paris, Rome, Amsterdam and London. Festivals are always a favourite and Russ has hosted and programmed stages and played at Glastonbury, Bestival, Montreaux, Womad, Big Chill, Womadelaide, Paradise Gardens, Love Box, V, Chicago World Music Festival, Isle of Wight, Stokefest and in 2010 he hosted his own five week African music festival Afro Cup for the football World Cup at The Rich Mix in east London. If this is not enough there also a few remixes under his belt including mixes for Bollywood Brass Band, Mahalia Rai Banda, Zulu 9.30 and Ska Cubano. Over the last couple of years he has been hosting his own radio show at which was recently sighted by Time Out London as podcast of the week and there have been guest mixes, interviews and shows on BBC Radio 1, 6Music (The 6Mix), The World Service and the Asian network.
Russ Jones aka Hackney globe trotter has forged a new direction in mixing global beats and world/dance music with Future World Funk, embracing eclectic cultural styles from mashed-up Brazillian 2-Step, Arabic Hip Hop, Afro-house, vintage reggae, Latin,cumbia and nu-cumbia to ragga, Japanese funk and Ghanian Hip Life to Moroccan Gnawa Dub.
