Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa UK Tour 26 - 27/10/2009

Rafael Vicente Correa Delgado is the current President of the Republic of Ecuador after being re-elected for a second consecutive term in April 2009, he was first elected in late 2006. He served as Minister of Economy from April 2005- August 2005. President Correa Delgado has a PhD in Economics and a Masters in Economic Sciences both from the University of Illinois as well as a Master of Arts in Economy from the Catholic University of Lovaina the New in Belgium. From 1993 – April 2005 he was Principal Professor of the Department of Economics, "San Francisco de Quito" University, Quito – Ecuador. October 2009 brings Mr Correa to the UK in 2 days of contact with Britain.

Summary: The President will discuss the key environmental issues that the Latin America region now face from water management, mining and oil exploration, to energy security and efforts towards the use of renewable energies. He will consider different policy options and their implications for the environmental future of the region.
