Angelica Lopez & Papayera : La Pava Congona

Proud to release the first single of this great band and amazing musicians. You can listen now the twisted version of this traditional Colombian Cumbia song "La Pava Congona" by Andres Landero in the style of Angelica Lopez & Papayera! Enjoy this wonderful musicians making of this song a very fresh new version of this legendary classic including the traditional sound mixed with modern champeta and the characteristic indigenous drums, gaitas, maracones and the inclusion of the drumkit to give this modern sound. The song was written by Andres Landero and is about an endagered bird from Colombia and their beautiful sound of his singing.

Papayera are a charismatic, tecnicolour 10-piece band made up of some much loved players on London’s vibrant Latin music scene. The music is driven by indigenous and folkloric rhythmns, which morph into the booty shaking sounds of Cumbia, Porro and Vallenato that fill Colombia’s city streets today. Guaranteed to have everyone in good spirits? and (probably) soaked in rum for luck.
