Henry Bran : Un Salvador in London

Henry Bran was a singer and a songwriter with a knack for telling heartfelt stories of faith and justice. Henry was originally from El Salvador, but has lived in the UK since the early 80s when his homeland was ravaged by a bitter civil war. These days Henry works with local communities across London, helping them develop skills in music, art and drama, as well as raising awareness about issues faced by refugees.

We had the opportunity to award Henry for his contribution of Latin music and art in the city on 15th July 2012 at the Festival Andino in Finsbury Park where he played his songs and amazingly joined by other musicians on stage showing the good vibes one person can bring after starting his solo show. After that Henry felt really emotional for the award as we expressed to me and for us very happy to give an special recognition for his contribution to music and arts and his work with the latin community which make us more proud to know the amazing person he was over the years and also a big part of the history of the Latin community in London.

We want to bring you some special memories and a small tribute to this amazing person, musician and family member of our latin community, He brought happiness with his music, love with his lyrics and poetry, smiles with his jokes and unique moments for those watching his saw playing. We gonna miss you my friend!

Henry Bran passed away on Sunday 12 July, Rest in peace amigo!
