About Herman Olivera: Born and growing up in New Jersey with Puerto Rican parents, Olivera is considered to be one of the last true soneros – master vocalists of poetic improvisation in the Salsa style.

In a musical career spanning almost four decades and 50 albums garnering Grammy Awards, Herman Olivera has worked with an array of the Salsa greats. Olivera began his career with Manny Oquendo's ground-breaking "Conjunto Libre" in 1978, recording five albums and a string of hits.
